Jamie WrightPhoenix & Imprudence important note! Hey just sharing something I learned importing and exporting. Whatever viewer you export from another grid on, that\'s the one you need to import the object on as well. I exported on Phoenix and imported, or tried to on Imp and it crashed. I then tried Hippo and it gave me an incompatibility message so I hopped on Phoenix and it worked. I still find Imprudence exports and imports the smoothest.
Knight FirethornSecondlife viewer 1,23 The secondlife viewer 1.22 is a stable viewer and have used it there. But for me being a builder and a part of secondlife i like the Phoenix 1.5.1(225) a stable viewer with lots of extras.  I tried the new secondlife v2 viewer, much harder to build with and freeze alot doing textures. But with bug fixes be lots of extras to get use to.  I\'am new here at Tertiary and not know what is best here.Viewers work differently in other grids, but i do hope the phoenic will be stable as it is in secondlife..
Jamie WrightImprudence Experimental I\'ve never been a fan of Viewer 2 in SL and Imprudence is very much configured to handle open sim well. It\'s stable and has features I love like a client side ao function. For anyone looking for an easy set up of the ao I have freebie ones (one male and one female) in my shop with a pre-configured folder. The only function I find lacking in Imprudence is the ability to save a texture or a photo you already took in world saved in inventory as a PNG. Photoshop Elements cannot open Targas so every now and then this is a very minor issue.  Imprudence is my viewer of choice out of the three I\'ve tried but the other two have their place so I\'m going to detail them as well.
Jamie WrightPhoenix 1.5.2.1102 This latest update is more stable than the last for the open sim. The client side ao works brilliantly as does the Imprudence one so I set up a free folder with poses for this too in my shop. One function I like that Imp lacks is the ability to save textures/photos already taken as a PNG if you need to. It trumps Imprudence in it\'s ability to run multiple avs without crashing as often. Phoenix still doesn\'t work as well as Imprudence overall in open sim. One major constant concern is attachments. You can position your hair or shoes correctly when you put them on your av but then when you log in again on this viewer they appear embedded in your avatar in the incorrect position in a weird spot like your stomach. Phoenix is not bad here but would rank it as my third choice. It has it\'s place for the texture save and running multi but it also has some issues. Ironically this is my viewer of choice for SL and seems to be perfectly configured to take on that grid so I\'ll mostly save it for there.
Jamie WrightHippo 6.3 Hippo is a lightweight and stable viewer based on SL on the Cool Viewer. It used to be the viewer of choice for the OSGrid and for that reason is well configured to take on the open sim. It\'s a no frills viewer and runs multiple well. In fact it\'s lightweight enough that you can run it alongside Imprudence or Phoenix and it works out as well as running two instances of Hippo. Like I say it\'s pretty no frills so no extras like client side aos. This viewer ranks second in my top 3, under Imprudence. I should mention that all three of the ones I use have the Import and Export function for builds and avatar shapes being saved to xml. This is a crucial feature for anyone who likes to grid hop and take their assets along XD
dj wellesSL viewer 1.22 This viewer is stable and does everything I need it to. na This viewer is fast and reliable. I can work and play for many hours inworld without incident.
