Getting started

Logging on to the Tertiary grid is simple.

1. Register and create an avatar account.
2. Set up a grid viewer (such as the Second Life browser) to access the Tertiary grid (see below).
3. Log onto the Tertiary grid to complete the set up.

Setting up a Tertiary grid viewer

To setup a Tertiary grid viewer that has a Grid Manager (eg. Imprudence):

1. Launch the viewer.
2. Bring up the Grid Manager and add a new grid.
3. In the Login URI text box enter http://tertiarygrid.com:8002/
4. Press the Get Grid Info button and then OK.
5. Select the grid you just created in the Grid Manager.
5. Now you can launch the viewer and log on to the Tertiary grid using the name and password of your avatar account.

To setup a Tertiary grid viewer with an older viewer (eg. SL 1.2x):

1. Find the launch point for your viewer (e.g. a SL desktop or Quick launch icon).
2. Right click on it and select Properties.
3. The Target field will look something like...

    "C:\Program Files\SecondLife\SecondLife.exe" -set SystemLanguage en-us

4. Modify it to read...

    "C:\Program Files\SecondLife\SecondLife.exe" -loginuri http://tertiarygrid.com:8002/ -loginpage http://tertiarygrid.com/launch.php -helperuri http://tertiarygrid.com/osgwi/

5. Now you can launch the viewer and log on to the Tertiary grid using the name and password of your avatar account.

Need a viewer?

As well as the SL-viewer Tertiary grid supports most common SL-type viewers such as Imprudence, Phoenix, Hippo, and RealXtend. However, at this time the SL viewer appears to be the most stable.
Note, however, that the SL viewer v2.x may not work with OpenSim grids.
