Welcome to Tertiary grid
Tertiary grid (TG) a new and highly experimental project
utilizing the OpenSim technology to create a new virtual world environment.
Any common viewer such as SecondLife, Hippo, RealXtend or Phoenix can
be used to connect to this world.

The Augurey Peak, Elke and Tertiary Epsilon regions are online. Other regions under way.

The upgrade switchover is starting again. Logins will be disabled for an hour or two. The first regions
to come back online will be Augurey Peak, Elke and Tertiary Epsilon. The others will follow
shortly thereafter.
Dec 31, 2011: OpenSim v0.7.2 upgrade status - oops
Well, it was one of those days. Database moved and installed on the new server.
Region servers, code and configuration files all set up and ready to go. Just one reboot
to clean up any cache or other system detritus and then all the new version servers can be
started in a matter of minutes.
Unless the server fails to reboot...
I am still analyzing the problem but it looks like key server operating system files have been
corrupted. This will require a reinstall of the OS and associated systems required
to run the OpenSimulator servers. This could be done as early as tomorrow if the hard drive is OK
and the OS can be installed without issue.
Logins to old grid available.
Dec 31, 2011: OpenSim v0.7.2 upgrade status
Logins unavailable. The old grid is down and we are migrating the database to the new server.
There will be a little database work and then we will begin the restart of all the regions.
Dec 30, 2011: OpenSim v0.7.2 upgrade region migration status
Most of the heavy lifting for the v0.7.2 upgrade has been completed. Today we will begin creating
and testing the new region instances for each of the existing regions. This will be done on the
alternate grid and shouldn't interfere with normal TG operations. Once that is done we will need to
take the old grid down and migrate the database to the new server. When the database has been moved
then we will begin the restart of all the regions.
Dec 27, 2011: OpenSim v0.7.2 server upgrade beginning
The v0.7.2 OpenSim upgrade is in full swing. Lots of great features are available with this release.
The schedule for completing the upgrade is as follows:
1. Wednesday, Dec 28: Code upgrade and integration with the TG Green Skies modules
2. Thursday, Dec 29: Database migration and integration, main asset server installation
3. Friday, Dec 30 to Saturday, Dec 31: Region migration and integration
During this time there could be some grid outages. There will definitely be down time as the
database is backed up and migrated to the new release. There could be other minor outages
as regions are updated and rolled into the new release.
